We hope you are all well and keeping safe and healthy. This memo aims to address issues around Fee refunds, FHC membership, and donations given that Hockey Victoria recently made the decision to cancel the 2020 winter season for Juniors, Seniors and Masters due to the extended Melbourne lockdown.

HV/HA FEES
Hockey Victoria are planning an 8 week Summer competition later in the year and will be holding onto the HA/HV memberships already paid at this point until at least August.

FHC MEMBERSHIP
$75 Footscray Hockey Club needs you! Become a member in 2020!

FHC Target = 400 members

The board have reviewed the usual membership fee of $110 and decided to reduce it to $75 to make it more affordable in 2020. We hope that members, parents and friends will support the club by becoming a financial member this season.
There are of course some benefits such as voting rights at the AGM, but more importantly please consider supporting the club financially.

Whether you are a player, or parent, all Members (aged 16+) are eligible
to vote at the AGM.

FHC PRE-SEASON COSTS & INVITATION TO DONATE
Although round 1 didn’t get off the ground, FHC has still incurred a range of costs associated with the initial pre-season and the training in the lead up to the revised season. They include but are not limited to lighting costs, extra cleaning and cleaning supplies, training equipment, ground maintenance costs and pro-rata payments of coaches for the pre-season / training components.
There was obviously no FHC policy in the event of a global pandemic that shuts down a season, and we cannot insist those members that benefitted from a pre-season to pay a contribution. However, there have been offers from members who did participate in pre-season, for the opportunity to donate something to the club. This is unbelievably appreciated by the Board and a contribution to pre-season can also be paid via the direct deposit details listed above.

FULL OR PART REFUND ON FEES
Many members who had paid their fees have offered a full or partial donation to the club. Some members are seeking a full refund as they need these funds now for their particular circumstances and the Board wish to fully support all of our players and families in this situation.
