Junior Hockey 2020 – Summer Hockey 6’s

Please note, your child will need to be registered with both FHC and HV in order to take the field. We will chase up any outstanding registrations before we begin.

WHAT:
Age qualification is calculated on the age of the participant for the 2020 season, age as of 31/12/2020.
Mixed teams, 6 on the field (apx 8 per team), no goalies.
5 week competition, starting the week of 9th November 2020 (pending numbers, there may be more rounds)
Cost $35 (+ Revolutionise fees) and HV’s $12 Summer Levy (if you have already paid 2020 HV fees, then you do not need to pay the $12.00 Summer Levy)
UNDER 6 – Our Star 6’s program.
UNDER 8 – 20 minute skill work, 20 minute games – 2 × 10 minutes
UNDER 10 to UNDER 16/18 – 2x 20 minute half games, 5 minute half time and 5 minute between games. (Warm ups can be undertaken in the cage.)

WHEN:
UNDER 6 – Wednesday night 5.30pm in the cage. (40 minute session)
UNDER 8 & UNDER 10 – Wednesday evenings 5.30pm and 6.20pm games
UNDER 12, UNDER 14 and UNDER 16/18 – Friday evenings. 5.30pm, 6.20pm & 7.10pm games.

HOW:
Players will be given a team colour name for shirts (red, blue, white, black)
Friendship requests taken into consideration when forming teams, but please be aware all teams will be selected evenly.
Personal protection fitted face masks/coverings (as per government rules) will need to be worn by players and coaches who are standing on the pitch, but outside the field of play.
PLEASE NOTE: While HV have stated spectators need to be in line with Government requirements, FHC Board have decided on no spectators at this time. This may change in the future.
Under 6’s and Under 8’s will be able to have parent spectators, but please do not congregate in groups.

HOCKEY VICTORIA FAQ’S:
1. Can players double up and play a second game for another team in the next time slot? No. HV recommends that each player should only participate in one match per day. Ideally, all players train and play with a single team only.

2. Can coaches double up and coach a second team in the next time slot? No. As above.

3. Are individuals permitted to umpire one game, maintain distance from the participants, and then play the next game with another team/ group of players? Yes, this is allowed with greater focus placed on hygiene and wearing of fitted face masks/coverings by all players and coaches when off the field.

4. Are clubs required to record the details of everyone who enters the venue – players and spectators? Yes. All venues and clubs/teams must keep records of every person who attends the venue/facility or participates in community sport and recreation. We will advise members and parents on the process.
